Welcome to our way of keeping in touch, sharing pictures, some videos, and just plain Jayden world.
Jayden Dyer was born November 11th 2008 at 7:45pm via c-section. I was sent in Monday morning the 10th at 7am to start the induction process as I was having some scares with high blood pressure. The induction meds were started at 9am and by noon I was in labor. Of course I had back labor which was the most pain I have ever felt. Jason was great throughout the entire thing trying to help make me more comfortable by using some tricks the nurses were teaching him, and I had my mom there for support as well. I will not go into the entire story as it is very long, but being in labor from Monday till Tuesday evening was not fun. An entire 32 hours later, not dialating fast enough, Jayden not being a good boy and dropping as he should have, and me being totally exhausted resulted in a c-section. I was a little upset that I felt as though I was a failure because I couldn't have a normal birth, but as my doctors advised me in the operating room, was even if they let me go a little longer and I got to push, I probley wouldn't have gotten him out as he was in an awkward position.
At 7:45pm our little miracle was born. He was 7lbs 9.8oz's and 21 inches long and did have hair (till now). My doctors assumed he would be bigger as mommy was a house, but we proved that wrong. Of course now a days he's living up to being a big boy as recently at his 2 month appt. he was 12lbs 7oz's and 24 inches long; at 85th percentile for his weight and 90th percentile for his height.
Jayden's name came from wayyyyyy back in the day when (as dumb as this is), Will & Jada Smith had there little boy and named him this. I instantly fell in love with this name. There were time's I almost didn't use it due to it's popularity, but once we knew he was a He. This was the only name I felt best about. We decided to spell it with the Y because it was similar to daddy's short name. Daddy and Jayden also share the same initials, but instead of being called Jay for short, you will hear me call him JD. I think JD HUGHES is going to be a important name one day :)
I can't say the past few months have been easy cause that would be a lie. I can say I love this little guy with all my heart, and can't imagine him not with us. He was quite the fussy baby to begin with, to the point I was wondering if he was colicky. Our pedi even advised us he might be slightly colicky, but after I reviewed some videos of full blown colicky babies, I realized how BLESSED I really was. Jayden certainly wasn't that bad, but definitely wasn't an easy baby to deal with all the time. We switched formulas a few times, and it came down to Soy which is what he is on now due to him possibly being alergic to milk or just having a reflux issue. Don't get me wrong, this boy can eat and his weight prooves that and always has, he was never a spit up baby. But he was a fussy, VERY gassy baby which made him arch his back like you wouldn't believe after feedings. It broke our heart to see him this way. Now that he is on the Soy he is a better. He still isn't that perfectly calm baby you always see wide awake while mommy & daddy shop or eat dinner at a nice restaurant (ha ha), but he doesn't scream or arch his back anymore. Sure he has his fussy times, but it's getting better either with time or with the Soy.
Ok enough of my blabbing for today, let's now gt to some pictures of our beautiful little boy. From the time he was born we knew he was his daddys child. Everyone has made it well known that he looks like daddy, but I know he has mommy in there somewhere.
Without further adieu, here's my man JD! And some pictures of his first two months.
